چکیده

It has been argued that linked open data is the major benefit of semantic technologies for the web as it provides a huge amount of structured data that can be accessed in a more effective way than web pages. While linked open data avoids many problems connected with the use of expressive ontologies such as the knowledge acquisition bottleneck, data heterogeneity remains a challenging problem. In particular, identical objects may be referred to by different URIs in different data sets. Identifying such representations of the same object is called object reconciliation. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to object reconciliation that is based on an existing semantic similarity measure for linked data. We adapt the measure to the object reconciliation problem, present exact and approximate algorithms that efficiently implement the methods, and provide a systematic experimental evaluation based on a benchmark dataset. As our main result, we show that the use of lightweight ontologies and schema information significantly improves object reconciliation in the context of linked open data.

On-Line Nonlinear Dynamic Data Reconciliation Using Extended Kalman Filtering: Application to a Distillation Column and a CSTR

Extended Kalman Filtering (EKF) is a nonlinear dynamic data reconciliation (NDDR) method. One of its main advantages is its suitability for on-line applications. This paper presents an on-line NDDR method using EKF. It is implemented for two case studies, temperature measurements of a distillation column and concentration measurements of a CSTR. In each time step, random numbers with zero m...

Visual techniques for medical reconciliation: spatial metaphor, animated explanation, and flexible decision-making

Medication reconciliation can help prevent adverse health outcomes, but the process is nontrivial. At its core is a list reconciliation problem: take n lists, review all j items, and decide which k items to keep. That alone, however, can be mentally taxing and error-prone -especially so in the medical context, in which discrepancies of any kind may be clinically significant. Twinlist offers a f...

Leveraging Terminological Resources for Mapping between Rare Disease Information Sources

BACKGROUND Rare disease information sources are incompletely and inconsistently cross-referenced to one another, making it difficult for information seekers to navigate across them. The development of such cross-references established manually by experts is generally labor intensive and costly. OBJECTIVES To develop an automatic mapping between two of the major rare diseases information sourc...

Determinants of Completing the Medication Reconciliation Form Among Nurses Based on Diffusion of Innovation Theory

Background &Objectives:Patientsafety is a global medical concern with remarkable influence onthe health of patients. Studies have suggested thattreatment-related damages occur in approximately 10% of patients at variable degrees, and more than a quarter of these damages are associated with medication errors. Medication errors could be diminished during patient hospitalization and transferusing ...

Disconnected Objects: Reconciliation in a Nested Object Transaction Environment

A mechanism for handling inconsistencies created when replicated objects are updated during disconnected operations on a mobile host is described. By exploiting the encapsulation property of objects, analysis of object behaviours is employed to derive \reconciliation procedures" so con icting concurrent updates made on di erent copies of objects may be rendered mutually consistent. The process ...
